I am a very experienced, professional cook and am largely self-taught (as are some of the best chefs, e.g. Raymond Blanc and Heston Blumenthal). I LOVE FOOD – not just how to cook it, but I enjoy discovering new ingredients and cuisines; learning how the food industry creates (and adulterates) some of our food; how to grow it, store it and cook it – it’s all fascinating to me!
In 2009, I was lucky enough to be able to learn the art of artisan bread-making at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, in Oxford, under the tutelage of Benoit Blin – Head Patisserie Chef (and Master of Culinary Arts) – who also participated in the BBC’s ‘Bake Off Creme de la Creme’ programme as one of the three judges. Since then, I have been baking and making bread on an almost daily basis. I find it extremely relaxing and immensely satisfying.
For over four years, I have also successfully run and hosted a monthly supper club. Each month focuses on a theme: a particular cuisine; a particular ingredient or perhaps a seasonal focus. I manage to squeeze seven other guests besides myself in my small flat in Virginia Water. Diners, who were initially strangers, have now become regular monthly guests at my home and we all look forward to sharing the camaraderie and friendship that exudes around the dinner table, as well as the good food!.
I have cooked for various events: a romantic birthday meal for two; dinner parties, canape parties; buffets; business meetings; BBQs; Christmas celebrations, and of course family meals.
If you have a special event coming up or you’d just like some help with family meals, or filling the freezer, please contact me for an informal, friendly chat. You can contact me on 07918 808982 or alternatively complete the contact form.
I can also help you improve your cooking skills or help you learn a particular technique.
